02/09/2006 DeROCHE-The death of Mark J. DeRoche of Rocmaura Nursing Home occurred at his residence on Wednesday, February 8, 2006. Mr. DeRoche was born in Miscouche, P.E.I., a son of the late Demas and Celina (Gaudet) DeRoche. He had served with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was both a 3rd and 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He had been employed with P.F.P. and Saint John Shipbuilding until his retirement in 1980 and was a member of Local 318, Plumbers and Pipefitters for 44 years. He was predeceased by his 1st wife, the former Alice Kervin, in 1954; his 2nd wife, the former Jessie Beers, in 2002; his daughter, Carol Forsythe; two brothers, Henry and Ernest; and two sisters, Helen March and Josephine Frost. He is survived by two sons, Mark (Pat) of Kanata, Ont., and Peter (Phyllis) of Winnipeg; two step-daughters, Barbara Merzetti (Paul) of Quispamsis, and Mary McIntyre (Vaughn) of St. Andrew's; two sisters, Ina Rackley and Celina Cook, both of Saint John; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday February 9, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church on Friday morning at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. www.fitzpatrickfh.com [Telegraph-Journal]
